World Rowing Masters Regatta
2013 World Rowing Masters Regatta will be in Varese, from 5th to 8th September, another important event following the 2012 European Rowing Championship and also a preparation for the 2014 World Rowing Under 23 Championship.
543 teams from 44 countries, more than 3500 athletes aged from 27 to 90 years and more than 10.000 tourists; Varese will benefit from this event not only during the races day, but also before, because athletes will come to train, and after, since most will stay to visit the city.
We’ve been rowing on Lake Varese for over 5,000 years. That’s why we have such an innate passion for rowing; it’s deeply rooted in our history and our land.
Varese and its green landscape offer many opportunities for leisure, thanks to its valuable tourist accommodations, to the many sport activities, to our food typical products and to the many art and cultural sites.
Art in Nature 2013, Villa e Collezione Panza, Varese.
Starting from Saturday May 25 – the Park of Villa Panza in Varese, will be enriched by three new site-specific installations – created only with natural elements – by British artist Stuart Ian Frost.
An unusual action of the three-year project Art in Nature – by Emanuele Montibeller, artistic director of Arte Sella – which involves the participation of three different artists for three years. The first artist is Ian Frost, whose installations will dissolve in time and in nature itself, since they are made of natural elements. The production is characterized by the artist’s interest in the physicality of natural objects, their specific place within the environment and their relationship with the culture, history and myths.
The project – which will continue in 2014 and 2015 with Bob Verschueren and Peter Randall-Page – is organized by the FAI.
